Workin’ It Wednesdays

 

Processed with VSCO with x1 presetThis is usually how mornings go around here. This particular morning it was breakfast bars and milk for the win. Some days the easiest choice is eaten and then forgotten. No shame in that right? I’m workin’ it.

So I have been an avid blog reader for years now. Years. When I have a spare moment I grab my phone and go through all the bookmarked blogs and read them throughout the day. I love love love it. It’s free advice is how I look at it. It’s one reason I loved being a hair stylist. Free advice, right in your chair. Brilliant. So for years now I have been reading Shay’s blog, Mix and Match Mama and starting this year she is doing a Workin’ It Wednesday post every second Wednesday of the month. So I thought I would jump on board and join the conversation.

This month the conversation is how we are workin’ it to keep our New Year’s goals.

I touched a little on it in this post but I thought I would dig a little deeper.

All in all I would like for this year to be even more disciplined. Oh man, this is a hard one. I can’t tell you how many times I set the alarm clock for 6:00 AM only to hit the snooze 7 times. That is so bad and so not being disciplined. I would like to start getting up earlier. Specifics? Lights out at 10:00pm and lights on at 6:00am. I want to start drinking more water, 20oz every hour. Going to gym class three times a week. Read a book a month. I love to read. I used to read so much more than I do now. I got in this horrible habit of TV right after Rocky was born. I dealt with so much anxiety and fear when it was night time. I would lie awake all night just to make sure Rocky was ok and any time I would doze off, I would catch myself. I started watching TV during that time to take my mind off of all the stress and decompress from it all. Eventually the fear and anxiety went away but the TV didn’t. So this year I am limiting my TV.

And lastly this year I want to be more disciplined with what is going on and in our bodies. I want to start looking for more healthier options to eat and less take out. Last year I bought the starter kit for Young Living Essential Oils. I tinkered with them a little but this year I am really kick starting it. I bought all the favorite swag and I am even going as far as trying my hand at DIY dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent and liquid soap. All with essential oils. I haven’t started the process but I did put some orders in on Amazon and Young Living.Β I can’t wait to get started and I am hoping to do a blog post on it to fill you in on all the details.Β 

So that’s that! New Year and new goals.
